What should my company offer as a work-from-home (WFH) allowance in Germany?

Please note, as a general rule, any additional costs that the supported employee will incur as a result of having to work from home should be covered. In Germany we recommend providing €100 - 150 per month.

What considerations are there around meal allowances and reimbursements?

Expenses reimbursements for meals in a work-from-home setup (contrary to during a business trip) will need to be grossed up and reimbursed via salary. An increase lessens the administrative burden for all parties involved. This kind of allowance is rather rare and typically only seen for higher salaries.
