What other notable statutory benefits does Singapore’s social security system offer?
Employers are generally required to purchase and maintain work injury compensation insurance for employees engaged in manual labour and employees whose monthly salary is SG$2,600 or less.
Employers are required to provide payment to eligible employees who are injured at work or die due to an injury sustained at work. Employees will be able to file claims under the Work Injury Compensation Act (WICA) or via Common Law. For more information on the differences, please see this website.
