Employment Agreement Options in Spain Internal
What are the types of employment agreements we can offer? (e.g., fixed-term, indefinite, project-based)
Overall, we recommend signing indefinite contracts.
Except in rare circumstances, fixed-term contracts cannot be offered in Spain.
If you are considering a fixed-term contract, please reach out to Velocity Global through your normal process, and we will help you.
Please note we are able to support part-time contracts, but the number of hours the employee is going to work and their timetable need to be specified. If hours are going to vary, it should be because of a rise in production for that specific period. The timetable cannot vary each week.
Can we recognize seniority in Spain?
We can recognize an employee's seniority through the agreement they sign with us, a tripartite agreement, or an addendum. If you are considering recognizing seniority, please reach out to Velocity Global through your normal process, and we will help you.
Can we include benefits in the employment agreement?
You can include benefits in the agreement with the gross amount in euros.
Can we add variable compensation to the employment agreement?
Variable compensation can be included by utilizing our Variable Compensation Agreement template.
In Spain, it is important to define specific goals, targets, or metrics to which the achievement of the payment is linked. If no goals, targets, or metrics are provided, the employee can claim the full amount of the variable compensation, regardless of whether the metrics were reached.
If you are considering adding variable compensation with full amounts to an agreement, please reach out to Velocity Global through your normal process, and we will help you.
